Hope you had a nice RV weekend. Monday’s issue is out a little early (job3 needed a meat servo). Didn’t get to fly the RV this weekend, but did get the yard mostly squared away and we got a lot of rain. I’ll take it!
Have a nice Monday.

RV-7 #74017
Return line swivel fitting - hope the line is well stabilized between that & engine as there is only an o-ring inside that fitting & wouldn't do well if line vibration is present. Good point on the vibration. I may yet (probably will) revise this concept a little more. I wish I had some hoses...

Hartzell Raptor
Recently flew a two-blade Raptor about 10 hours on the front of my RV-8. This is the late model carbon prop specifically designed as a much lighter alternative to the 7497 aluminum BA. That's not to say the 7497 was copied in carbon. It's a clean sheet design to optimize properties, with a...

Aileron alignment
Been struggling getting my ailerons and flaps aligned. Thought I had it until I found out my flaps weren’t aligned correctly with the fuselage. I then cut out a wing cord template, see attached picture, and it points to the aileron being a good inch higher than what the wing tip alignment board...

Migrating high EGT, flow divider?
Diagnosis help requested . . . . In the process of breaking in the #3 cylinder. Going fine, everything indicates good on the #3. During one break in flight, the #1 cylinder started indicating high EGT. Headed to base and inspected intake system suspecting an intake leak. Replaced the intake boot...

An extra hole on wing top skin
This hole is on the outboard wing top skin. What is it for? Its location seems symmetric to the tie down hole on the bottom side skin. Is it designed for a possible tie up 😄? Should I just rivet it? The KAI didn’t mention it at all.

Dang…Cracked My Canopy!! 😉
But hold on…it was my “practice canopy”! When I bought the untouched F1 QB kit from Vince a little over a year ago, we found that the canopy had been stored in some way that it developed a big divot in the top - like someone stored it upside down in a hot place while it was sitting on a 4x4 or...

New "Ti-Down Rings", Lightest, Strongest, with Locking Jack Cups
Tired of holding my breath every time I lifted an airplane with wing jacks, I set out to design a wing jack system that would be positively locking. If I'm jumping in/out of the airplane, if the hangar door is open and a breeze comes through, or if an overzealous helper leans across a raised...
