Didn't get to spend any time with my RV this weekend. Working a side gig all weekend (and please excuse the early push for Monday). This is the time window I had available. Hope you had a little RV plane or project time, and I'm looking forward to seeing some of the pictures in the ‘what did you do this weekend’ thread. It's been a tough few days for aviation, and the motivational pictures of people building and flying are much appreciated. v/r,dr

RE: 12iS fuel-plumbing testing
…RV-12David
I used a pressure gauge and made test set up. If it’s holding pressure then you know all the fittings are ok. Took a few tries to get it to hold pressure. It held pressure for a week once I got all the leaks. I’ve marked all the involved fittings with torque seal to remind me they were tested as I’ve added the rest of the system since.

RV-15 Updates Revealed in 1-30-2025 Webinar
Rian Johnson and Brian Hickman provided insightful, well-reasoned, and encouraging updates on the RV-15 in last night's webinar. I've included a few screenshots of some interesting features, but there are more--you should watch the RV-15-focused portion of the recording (last ~2/3) to understand...

Canopy hard to close
Just got my canopy onto the aircraft for the first time, and I’m surprised at how much force there is on the canopy latch pins when closing. You can see how much the canopy needs to get pulled down by the pins to close. I’m not sure it’s the canopy glass contacting the roll bar or not. Was...

Carb Magic
I've had the original carb on my O-320 for 3040+ hours now. It was talking to me. Harder to start, mixture distribution doing funny things (cylinder 3 was running lean), when it was really hot, it liked to diesel when shutting down, and just last week it would leak some gas after shutdown...

ACK ELT E-04 installation/pics
Anyone have pics of their ACK ELT E-04 installation to replace the old ACK E-01? My new to me RV-6A originally had the old ACK E-01 121.5mhz unit from Van's mounted directly behind the pilot seat. The E-04 has a different mount footprint and is longer due to the lithium battery. I was thinking...

RV-10 Beringer Master Cylinder Question
I know I have been spamming with a lot of questions lately, but as a first-time builder I really appreciate all of the help! I purchased the Beringer wheels/brakes kit directly from Van's as part of my fuselage and I'm working on the rudder pedals and master cylinders now. I think I mostly have...

12iS fuel-plumbing testing
I'm about to hang my engine, then attach my tailcone. First, I decided to re-pressure-test my fuel system before I make it any harder to get to the connections to tighten them. After connecting the firewall supply and return lines together, and capping the tank return line connection, I applied...

SS Heater Valve Cable Connection
I have the SS heater valves for the RV-10 from ACS. How is the cable intended to be secured by the provided hardware? There is a drilled bolt, some thin washers and a metal locknut but it’s not clear how it’s supposed to be used. I expect you somehow deform the cable by clamping it in the...

Tip-Up 705G Angle
A long time ago, I did the fairly common approach of notching the outside edge of the 705G angle (that nests up under the seat back brace) to provide some room for the skin/longeron rivets. Welp, it turns out my notches are still too small to make solid rivets work. I know it's not unheard of...
