What is everyone installing these days for usb an and usb c options for charging devices in their RVs which have high output. Not wanting to break the bank since I need multiple.

Suggest holding a handheld radio near it with squelch off. First one I tried was noisy. Bought a different brand and was quiet. Don’t remember the brand so can’t help you there.

I installed this one from Steinair. It’s a couple bucks more than online pricing But if you have any questions, really smart humans answer the phone there.
Added bonus, it’s a drop in replacement for the cigarette lighter charger on the 14.

Stratus had a two for one at SF. I asked if I could just buy one and they offer it at ½ price. They may extend the same offer a few days after SF.

I just realized that

Does anyone have one they have used that works well that you just drop in to a lighter socket that is a combo. I really don't want to rewire the lighter socket just yet. I have a couple of things I use it for.

I have 3 of these, the most recent of which is 3 years old which Is used in my -12.

No complaints regarding noise and they have a reasonably honest 4.8A output capability.

From my Pursuit boat: One quick glance and I know if my Alternator is working, could be really helpful when the Lycoming is electrically dependent. Don't ask how I know!

Not to be negative but hopefully you have something going to your EFIS that gives you not only visual cues but audible alerts (CAS) that you have an issue. With a modern EFIS you can get pre-warnings for both voltage and amperage irregular readings from alternators. Electrically dependent engines need lots of monitoring that the magnetos really did not.

i have a steinair dual usb port that works with no noise. i never use the 2nd port so i have a little led plug in there. i mean really little. it looks like a dust cap for the usb port. anyway, no way you can miss it as a '' master on'' light. about a buck at amazon. it is on my instrument panel.

Like I said in my post, it’s a couple bucks more than online pricing. I don’t mind paying for someone else to do my R&D. When I buy accessories from Stein, I Know it’s gonna work in my plane. By the way, I don’t see a Powerwerx add anywhere on this site.
