Your time window just barely missed me - I was barely off the ground coming out of KCXU with a load of 68 gallons of $4.75 100LL, can you believe that price? Then punched through the cold-front just southwest of Montgomery and straight shot home. After I cleared the weather (IFR 6000') ATC offered me direct destination - 803 nm from ACORI intersection. "Yes please".

It's not often we get to fly far enough in a straight line with our toys to see the curvature of the earth - but you can definitely see the great-circle route curvature on that one.

By the way - I landed with just over 2 hours still in the tanks. 😊

Not sure if this club is private or not, but I’ll chime in.

Unfortunately, all I did was keep the wood stove going and watch it snow. For the sixth month straight. 😭

RV-7 owner (not builder) in Western NY. KPEO.

Peace out. 🇺🇸

We decided we needed a place to fly for a birthday celebration, so an up-and-back to Mt. Shasta was chosen. Louise had the -3 and I took the Val with a neighbor in the back seat shooting pictures…. There was an amazing cloud forming up right about at Shasta, and the landing at Weed for a quick break was….sporty! We skeedaddled back home before things got worse - but grabbed a few photos!IMG_0354.jpegIMG_0343.jpegIMG_8917.jpeg

Flew back to Nashville again this week for the Army Aviation summit and Hall of Fame banquet. An Army buddy was inducted this year.

Flew up to Va Tech on Saturday to see my girls and go to the spring football scrimmage. Then witnessed the skydiving incident. Pics below.

This nice RV8 was tied down by the 14A fuel pumps.

All dressed up for the banquet.

Jumper hit score board. Luckily his chute stopped him from falling 100’ to the ground.

Firemen rescued him after about 30 mins. Great response by Blacksburg Fire and Resuce.

68 gallons in a 9? Is that a typo? Ferry tank?

Started reassembly of engine Sunday after all cylinders returned from honing due to glazing. Also adding 9:1 pistons while I'm in there. Hope to be flying again in two weeks.

Kicked off the flying season with Florida trip. Flew RV7a back to TX from Florida yesterday. Spent 12 days there with 2 days in Panama City, 10 days in Kissimmee with our daughter and son in law and a granddaughter joined us for last 6 days. Took everyone to Sun n Fun night airshow last Wednesday and spent a second day at Sun n fun. Great time! Fuel prices ranged from $4.29 to $5.75 at 3 smaller airports. Did not buy the $8 gas at the 2 larger airports.
