Vent in baffle

I’m understanding that the vent in the baffle is used for carbureted engines only?

That's for the carb heater. Not needed if you don't have a carb.

Actually, it is used for cabin heat. But hey, not needed if you don’t have cabin heat.

Carb heat comes off a heat muff installed on an exhaust pipe.
