I think most of us have the 2006X (Vans P/N EA-00002) oil cooler as standard equipment. I tried calling Airflow Services to ask when the suspect coolers were manufactured or how many reports of problems they had gotten. Call goes to VM, so no luck there. They did just put out revision A (thank goodness) which notes that the suspect coolers were manufactured in 2019. It came out right after I used my borescope camera to read my SN.

Proper action is to check of course, but it really helps to know the timeframe.

I have written to Airflow Services regarding their SB on the 2006X oil coolers. Sadly there has been no reply. Their web page regarding the SB does not open for me. Did anyone on the forum download the page with the affected serial numbers when it was available? If so, could I kindly request a copy by DM.

If it helps my serial number is A22-14057-16. I wonder if the -16 relates to 2016? The affected batch was in production 2019. My kit was packed in 2022.

trying to bring this back to the top. I too need to find the list of serial numbers affected. Can't find the sb-0001 from airflow anywhere. Anyone have the list?

Potential oil leak from the vanes and/or core area of the oil cooler due to potential


manufacturing defect.


The service bulletin only applies to 2006X X-Series Oil Coolers serial numbers K19-16202-25


through 40. We are still collecting data, if your oil cooler is outside the affected range, we are


interested in knowing about any failures.


Inspect your 2006X oil cooler data plate and determine if your oil cooler falls within this serial


number range. If it does, do not continue to fly your aircraft. Send Airflow Systems an email at


[email protected] with your contact information and we will send you a replacement


oil cooler and return shipping instructions for your oil cooler. DO NOT THROW AWAY YOUR OLD


COOLER, WE REQUIRE THEM FOR EXCHANGE AND INSPECTION.
