I recently installed the wing root filter mod on my 14. A couple of my observations - had to make make some slight alterations to the mountings of the adel clamps so that they were not “pulling” on the rigid fuel lines as the clamps were tightened. Alterations also would make removing the filter adel clamp every year a tad easier. Overall a great kit and I am thrilled not to have to mess around with a fuel filter in the tunnel every year. Also love having fuel shutoffs in each wing.

One-Man Lower Cowl Install
It's clumsy, at best. So, I have fabricated a cradle to hold the rear in place while I attempt to jockey the front into position. This still leaves a dilemma. The rubber flaps on the lower cowl that fit above the air intake flanges need to be held up while the lower cowl is raised into...

Wing Root Filter Mod
I have the Aircraft Specialty wing root filter mod kit in my hands and the quality is excellent. I have some questions and am looking for feedback from anyone who has it installed already. The Holley filter supplied is a 40micron unit, and on the package it says it is suitable for after-pump...

Spark Plug Speculation requested
Please post thoughts on this spark plug picture. It was from 4T of a O-320D1A at recent condition inspection. I thought the distortions on the lower electrode were interesting. All feedback appreciated.

Pleas tell me this is normal. F828 art bottom skin
I have my sides on ( almost looks like a plane !) and at the point to Cleco on F828. The AFT bottom skin. I can get on side cleco’d on, but then when trying to work the other side, it’s coming up about a 1/2 shy. I guessing , as it’s a think SOB piece of alum, it’s a matter of working the...

Up sizing rivets for tank baffle?
Long story. I needed to pull my baffle for a nagging leak that didn’t get fixed the first time drilling holes in the baffle to seal from inside. The original proseal became very gummy. Possibly a bad mix. Now that I’ve drilled out all the rivets I noticed the counter sinks sit a little deep...

Aileron Stops
If you're frustrated by the Van's recommended aileron stops for the RV-3,4,6,7,9,10,14, I respectfully submit the following alternative. I placed a piece of 3/8"ID rubber fuel line (O.D. ~ 1/2") over the A-711 bushing. The fuel line contacts the W-413-PP(L&R) inboard hinge with a satisfying...
