Failure to start
I would get it inspected as it is by DAR as an E-LSA and then before you fly it run a flexible hose in it's place ;-) Probably not an option. Most any inspector is going to want evidence that the engine has been run on the airframe without any leaks.

Fuel tank sealant from 2002-2004
Does anyone know what sealant Van’s was recommending for fuel tank sealant around 2002-2004? I assume pro-seal. I have my tanks off, one of which the access panel on the root rib showed evidence of leakage (blue staining from around the screws). So I pulled the panel off and started to clean up...

started the day chasing down an obvious leak in the left tank... after searching unsuccessfully for some sign on the outside we pulled the tank from the wing and found that several of the ?closed? end pull rivets for the z brackets at stations 5 and 6 were not so closed after all. these special...

Had a few friends, two engine hoists, and a forklift over for a work party this morning…… Now I’ve got all sorts of things to work on! Baffles, cowling, AirBox…… and that twenty-five-year-old front seal….what fun!

390-EXP oil drain access without removing the lower cowl
The oil drain on the EXP sits right above the forward part of the lower cowl closeout. Making the close-out two pieces allows easy access to the drain with the cowl in place.

Baffling clean up
Routinely overlooked with carbed RVs...failure to seal at the air box inlet raises pressure in the lower cowl. Cylinder cooling is all about deltaP, upper cowl and lower cowl.
