RV News That Caught My Eye Over The Last Few Hours ….dr

Garmin Avionics Demo Before OSH (52F this Friday) …my home field. dr
If you would like to play around with Garmin avionics in a kiosk similar to what will it be at Oshkosh, with no crowds around and with a factory rep there to answer your questions one on one, stop by the location listed below between the hours of 9 AM and 11 AM this coming Friday, July 12.
From Brad at Garmin, “Kiosk will have 2 G3X Touch and GTN750. I’ll also be flying in a G3XT/dual GTN equipped 182.”
Use the maps here (note new road into airport that your nav might not show). DO NOT DRIVE ACROSS THE RUNWAY!!!!! Can’t emphasize that enough…. Please do not park on the grass, there is a septic system runoff out there.
Bring a chair if you need a chair.

Blast Tube Love …Biggiesauls
I had the below 1,100 rpm stumble on my newly minted RV-9A (afp-150) after 30 minutes or more of flight time. Stumble would happen on taxi or worse on final if a touch of power was needed. I tried numerous combinations of heat sleave on various fuel related item fwf. What I did 2 months ago that virtually eliminated the stumble…. A 1" blast tube pointed at the mechanical fuel pump, no shroud installed.
Additional note: my RV9A has the new elastomer nose gear assembly. My concern is that all the new "structure" from this assembly inhibits the clean flow of air from behind the engine/accessory case area. The blast tube guides some air to a hot spot.

Prop Vibration Solved …ERushing PIREP
Another success story... RV-10/ IO-540-D4A5/ Hartzell 2 blade prop. For 300 hours, I had an annoying 1/2 order vibration that I could feel in the seat and stick, even after balancing, rotating the prop 180 degrees and countless efforts looking for anything that I could think of that might be causing the issue.
After rotating the prop to horizontal at top dead center and rebalancing, the annoying 1/2 order vibration is gone.
As mentioned before, the 79024-S and extra 72155-S did the trick for me.

Hi guys Our 2 year old RV14 got hit on ground by a Robin. The Robin taxied into our plane while we were refueling. Don‘t ask how, I don‘t understand it either 😢 The rudder and elevator got destroyed and we are already building new ones. The bigger issue is, that the wing of the Robin slid...
