Mothership: New RV-15 Wing Video
"With the new wings completed, the real test was to see how the RV-15 flew with them. Head engineer Rian Johnson took the RV-15 aloft recently to see how it flies with the new wing and, especially, to assess changes in the flaps and flap-actuating mechanism. The goals were to have unmatched low-speed handling and low flap-handle forces—both were more than met.
Watch to the end to see Van himself listening to the debrief."

More RE: Alternator field wire question
When the breaker switch is closed it closes the alt contactor and would also provide 12V to the VR in the alternator. If the OVM detects a voltage over 16V the OVM shorts the field wire causing the breaker switch to open thus disconnecting the B-lead from the Master contactor. For some reason the wire connected between the alt contactor to the alternator wasn’t exciting the VR. So I moved the field wire connection between the contactor and alternator to the new location shown in red.

RE: Slightly fluctuating EGT and lagging CHT on startup on cylinder 2 …N49ex
Yes, I too was surprised it was not number 2, although in the reaming process it ran a close second in terms of the amount of crud removed and the force required to push the valve in. Hey, at least at 800 Hrs., seems to appear much earlier for many, so I considered myself lucky. FYI, here's the graph of the worst morning sickness.

RE: RV 14 Elevator close out tab…lipper03
I've built two per plans, and it worked like it should with the overlaying, holder, and pop rivets. I see what you mean, but I didn't put that much thought and did what the plans said. Hopefully this helps.

RE: Overhauling an IO360-C1E6 for a RV14 …TASEsq
copy - thanks for the heads up. I’ll make a note of it. The shop here didn’t want to touch those gears - we’ve left them in the case (he said the case overhaul guy gets upset if he damages something trying to get that set screw out, so he leaves it for them).
This is the one you are referring? #8
