Bwagner RE: Thinking about back riveting the top and top side skins together first, and then riveting the three skins onto the ribs and longeron of the fuselage.
I successfully back-rivetted much of the RV-14A's top and side skins in this manner.

RE: RV8 aileron stop ideal outer diameter
…RV7 To Go
I made aluminum stops but put them on the outer hinge brackets instead of the inner ones. Made it easy to get the proper throw on the ailerons and good contact against the stop. Not sure what your plan was for a delrin stop.

Many ways to do this. Yes, we recommend a restrictor fitting in the cylinder, to dampen the pressure pulses. On the engine side of the firewall, you could use a gauge port fitting, similar to what Warren showed above, connected to a AN825-3D, then get 2, -3 fitting stems to connect to the PMag hoses. The stainless ones we use ar on the tee in this pic.

Will this work? It just seem like back riveting the skins together on the bench will be easier then riveting it on the frame. I see there are the two j-channels of the top side skins, but if needed they can be slid into the one bulkhead rib.

WDYDWYRTW? 4 / 5-6 / 2025. Final weekend of SnF.
Hope a few of you got out to SnF and are having a great time. Starting the weekend a little damp (and boomy and sparky) around N.TX and areas north. Lots of staying inside . v/r,dr *Stands for “What did you do w/your RV this weekend?”

RV8 aileron stop ideal outer diameter
Does anyone know what the optimum outside diameter is for an RV8 delrin aileron stop? I’m trying to find the ideal od that will allow full deflection without the aileron bumping/pumping without having to try multiple sizes. Thanks

Nose Gear Spacer
When I set the breakout force on my nose wheel, the nut is a little too far past the pre-drilled cotter pin hole for comfort. I've searched high and low for a washer that will work to take up the extra space, but anything that has a large enough ID is much thicker than I need. McMaster does...

What fittings to use for plumbing manifold pressure to (2) Surefly SIMs and GRT EIS
I am in the process of replacing both mags with Surefly SIMs (electronic ignition units). Having trouble specifying what fittings I can use to tap into my current MP with 2 lines that will go to the SIMs. Currently I have a hose going from cylinder 5 through the firewall with a bulkhead...

Stripped screw hole on longeron at rear inspection plate.
The paint shop got a bit aggressive reinstalling an F824-B inspection plate at the rear of the empennage (below elevator). There are a couple of 507C-6 screws that screw into the longeron itself. The tapped longeron hole got stripped. I'd like to rivet a nutplate to the longeron to accept the...
