tail wheel spring WD409
hello, Im building an RV7 and having difficulty fitting the tail wheel spring attachment (WD409) to sit flush on F712 has anyone else had this problem? I'm trying to fit the WD409 onto F712 with the 2 keeper rivets. I've drawn the position of 409 onto F712 as laid out in drawing 27. When I...

Hey Gang, While not instructed to, it would seem intuitive to "break" the bottom of the F-01474 skins that overlap the F-01473 skins. Am I missing something? Thanks...

RV-8 Panel decisions..
Hi, I'm starting to think about my panel and looking at options similar to those shown in this thread. Based on G3x with stack on left with GTN650xi, GTX345, autopilot and audio panel with possibly second Nav/Com and G5 as back-up. My question concerns the amount of space available between the...

Note the use of adle clamps to route the GTN-650 cables forward away from the baggage compartment bulkhead.
One other option is to use 12"-18" pigtails on the comm, NAV and GPS antenna lines. Not a hard requirement but it makes hook up easier. Here the NAV tray BNC is the biggest PITA to connect if not using a pigtail.
One other thought. Move the GTN-650 as high up on the left side as possible.
This eases the pain when smashing buttons to do the latest ATC route update. Put the oversized Garmin autopilot module low for left hand manipulation. The GTN-650 has priority.

Displaying thermal image on Garmin G3X. What IR/thermal video camera?

I managed to develop a low power bluetooth application for IoS to communicate with a small arduino that talks to the Axisflying camera.
On the tip of my wing, I installed the thermal camera, on the landing light lens, the arduino and a video transmitter. all getting power from a tap on NAV lights. pictures below.
The video transmitter sends the video signal to the video receiver installed in the cockpit on the back of the MFD (passenger G3X). The video receiver is then connected through coax cables to PFD and MFD.
From the cockpit I can use my phone or iPad to adjust camera parameters such as color palete, contrast, bright, etc...
The prototype is working great at daylight and at night. I forgot to take pictures airborne. They look much nicer and more defined as the field of view is narrow.

Proseal to seal Baffle Corners
There are many little holes in the baffle corners etc that I would like to fill, but I would prefer to fill them before I paint the baffles rather than having globs of ultra black everywhere. Would Proseal be fine for these little spots? Apparently: It has a service temperature range from...

O-360 mixture setting
I have a RV6A with a O-360 A4M engine, MA4-5 carburator and whirlwind fixed pitch prop. The engine runs normal in flight or high RPM on the ground. My problem is the mixture setting at low RPM. Even with 6 turns in the mixture screw in the carburator I still don’t have any RPM rise when...

Tire to Nose Fork Assembly Clearance
I used to have a Goodyear Flight Custom III 5.00-5 6ply tire for my nose wheel. After Wilkerson assured me that their retreads would meet the same specs I bought a retreaded Condor 5.00-5 6ply from them. Since I still have my nose wheel pants off (different topic) I quickly noticed rubber coming...
