Use of Thermal Paste on Auto Spark Plug Thread Associated with P Mag Install
An aircraft maintenance engineer (;LAME in Australia) suggested I I use thermal conducting paste on the threads of the auto spark plugs that I will install with my PMags. I know there is no recommendation from EMag, but I understand this paste is used in Rotax installations. I plan on using...

B&C Regulator Sense Connection
All, I'm in the process of swapping my Hartzell/Plane Power AL12-EI60 alternator (P/N 99-1012) with a B&C LX60/LR3E-14 voltage regulator, primarily for the (supposed) increased reliability of the B&C product. Of course, my existing alternator is 2 years old with 231hrs of use, and is working...

Prop cable travel too short for new governor?
My 8A has been finished for 5 years and I'm not the original builder. In the process of overhauling the engine, I elected to replace the Woodward prop governor (which was unserviceable) with a PCU 5000X. Now that the overhauled engine is hanging on the plane, I'm going through the long, careful...

IFR RV-9A for sale in Savannah
The first ad was inadvertently erased by the admin, so here's the info again. Full Garmin G3X Touch setup, ADS-B in/out, 160 HP Lycoming O-320 with constant speed prop, and lots of little things (like roll bar handles and Skybolt fasteners) that make the plane easy to live with. And, yes, I did...

I’ve been wondering the same thing. I can’t find in the plans where that’s addressed. After I riveted the hinge in and pulled it together with the pin the flat part splayed open on my nose gear fairing. From the plans it looks like that strip doesn’t appear but there was no mention of removing it.
Trim gear leg fairings?
In looking at a completed RV-10 and in fitting the templates, it appears the flat part of the trailing edge of the gear fairings should trimmed off. My search however of online projects does not show any fairings with this part (see blue line in image) trimmed. What do folks do here?

I went through the exercise of figuring out how the automotive seat heaters that you but on line are wired a few months back and wrote a quick article on it. Thought I’d kept more pictures, but apparently not….if you zoom in on the picture, you can see the wiring scheme.
Heated Seats Blowing Fuses
Today was the day to have a little fun and sit in the plane to configure my panel that I got powered up for the first time a few days ago. Everything is working great - no smoke. It was getting a little chilly, so I thought "well, I should make sure the heated seats work I guess!" I have the...

@ Aero Structures Engineers, am I OK?
Calling aero-structures guys or any ME that remembers Mechanical of Materials. The plans for wingtip attachment call for CS4 rivets. I'm going the hinge attach route. Potential problem = - Wasn't thinking (over a couple of days). Installed 3/32 AN426s instead of intended 1/8s. Besides, why...
