Rv10 Main wheel pant fit question

I’m fitting the main pants and trying to follow the plans. The plans top gap spacer of 1.25” results in the bottom of my pants not even covering the lower hub curve and brake disc.

If I use a .75 top spacer I can get the hub covered but still have 4” of tire hanging down below the pant and the opening isn’t relief trimmed yet. IMG_5375.jpegWouldn’t want to go shorter than .75 on the top spacer.

Using air hawk 6-6 mains inflated to 42psi.

Is it possible that I was sent -14 main pants or is there even a difference between them? No part numbers on these pants. They are 37.75” long. Would someone please measure the length of your -10 main pants? Thanks!

A standard 6.00x6 is much to large and is not the correct tire size
Thanks Bill. That would certainly explain it… Doh! Must have ordered the wrong tires when I ordered the matco brakes and hubs a looooong time ago. It’s the obvious things that get you sometimes I guess

Note that if you ever intend on using retreads, it is best to fit the pants now. The retreads are a bit larger and if you set the pants up for standard tires, you will be pretty much stuck using them. If you set up for retreads, you will always be able to use standard tires , as well.

I have been using retreads on various airplanes, including flight school aircraft, for a long time. They wear much better and longer than standard tires and are usually cheaper. As a data point, we generally got twice as many landings on a retread as a standard tire in the flight training situation.
