RV-14 Rudder Pedal Blocks

Impressed by the quality of some aluminium products out there, but not liking the cost (espcially with foreign conversion / postage issues / tariffs etc!), i decided to design and 3D print some of my own.

Thought i would share here in case anyone else wants them.

They can be downloaded here.

They are printing at the moment - the photos of the real world ones were of V1 of the design but give you an idea of the fit.

To get a whole set you would need to print:
- 2 x Top Left blocks
- 2 x Top Right Blocks
- 4 x bottom Blocks.

They bolt togehter with 10-32 x 3/4" Cap head Screws and AN365-1032A captive nyloc nuts.

Will post a photo once ours are done on the printer.

The hole is 16.5 to match the diameter of the pedal cross bar, but they are 0.5mm less in diameter each part - so they should just clamp on.

Just a test fit while i wait for hardware, but its a perfect fit. They do look close, but there is no interfearance with the brake pedals.

A small update - i finally got mine printed and installed.

I initially used some High Temp resin in my Dad's resin printer, but this was too brittle. They cracked as soon as i tried to torque up the screws.

Instead i had them done in Nylon using SLS over at JLC3DP.

I reckon they came out great!

Just be sure they can't rotate and jam the brakes. I designed and grew similar pedal blocks but extended a tab over to the vertical part of the frame so there was no way they could rotate. See the picture - ignore the gust lock.
