Thanks Vlad. I'm struggling with the PCU to the IO-390 mounting the most.. The legacy Hartzell governor was attached to the faceplate but I'm not sure the PCU is attached the same way. Is this the case with yours? If so maybe you could attach a pic. That always helps.I had a similar, although not exactly the same, governor on my IO 540.
I purchased my PCU 5000X directly from the manufacturer, Jihostroj a.s. in Europe, and had it shipped to me. Installation was fairly straightforward.
When ordering, make sure you select the correct control arm direction so that your propeller cable moves and controls the governor in the proper direction. Also, ask the manufacturer to preset the governor for your engine’s maximum propeller RPM.
Other than that, the installation was quite simple. I have been very happy with my PCU 5000.
My IO390, 210 hp version (RV-14A) from the beginning used a PCU5000X (stock Vans cowling and WW300 prop) and no issues now 800+ hrs. Just one more data point. Purchased under a VAF “group buy” in the 2017 time frame. Thanks Vlad. I'm struggling with the PCU to the IO-390 mounting the most..
