Yep, I've done this too with satisfactory results. Had to do to insure there was not sideways pressure on my push-in fittings. I heated with a hot air gun and used the typical small tube hand benders to keep the bends in the proper orientation with respect to other bends. (There will be some spring back.) I can remember heating mine several decades ago to get it to take a SET with the desired bend. I ruined a few pieces before I got it right.
The nylon stuff. I've never had much success heating it for bending, but sounds like others have.The pipe? Or the tube?
