It seem that I read about a cheap radar altimeter that told your height above the runway during landing. Can’t find at the moment. Any thoughts?

I made one with a LIDAR sensor and $20 worth of Raspberry Pi parts. Not that hard to do, maybe two weeks part time; learning Python plus a little bit of Linux was easy with Google as your friend.
