EGT spikes on one cylinder

I'm about 90% sure that this is a sensor issue, but is there any other reason for an EGT spike like this?

Likely to be a sensor issue, could be exhaust valve stuck open but that would have given other symptoms. Check all the connections for that sensor.

If a sensor value defies the laws of thermodynamics, or would require a nuclear fuel rod to burst, then it’s probably a bad sensor…bad crimp, loose screw, etc.

Before doing anything, You might want to take the cowl off, turn on the engine monitor, and have someone watch for spikes while you move the wiring around.
Swapping out the part might hide the cause since you will be messing with the connections or inadvertently moving a short to ground that will come back.
