At 5'9" & 168#'s my RV-4 is a tight fit, it's a squeeze for entry/exit and DON'T drop your cellphone in flight, consider it lost until reaching a stopping point. Also not much length for stretching out legs on long flights. Your mileage may vary but there's little space between my headset & canopy, although a sunshade probably takes up a couple of inches of clearance.
With that said it is a hoot to fly!
I'm in SLC, UT so when you're headed home from Reno, you're certainly welcome to stop by KSVR and sit in mine to check fit. There is some truth to the saying you wear an RV-4...and yeah, even with an IO-360/CS prop we'd likely be way past a safe CG at our combined weights + fuel.
