Anybody know if the ignition leads for Pmag can be sourced from automotive supplier? Experience? Part number? Thanks.

Probably not at the lengths we need for Lycomings.

But you can make them yourself.

Making ignition harness

I have IO-540-C4B5 with dual Bendix SL6 series 200 mags. I need new harnesses for both mags. I see ACS sells a kit to make your own harness. I have never done this nor seen it done. It is much cheaper than buying complete ready to install harness. Link to mentioned kit...

How do I make MSD wires for E-mag?

I'm interested in making a set of MSD wires for an E-mag. I know E-mag offers pre-made wire harnesses; I own a set of them and like the quality of the MSD wires better. What MSD distributor boot is needed for the E-mag? What crimper works well for the MSD 8.5 wire?

I built my own using a custom MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor wire kit and it worked out great. You can get the bulk wire, boots, and terminals from pretty much any automotive supplier (like Summit Racing or Jegs).The big trick is making sure you get the right boots for the P-mag tower ends (usually 90-degree or straight HEI-style, depending on your baffling clearance) and using a high-quality ratcheting crimp tool. Building them yourself lets you route them perfectly around your Lycoming without dealing with excess slack.
