GRT

I have a two screen GRT system in my RV6 panel along with their EIS 4000 and two GRT servos. I’ve used GRT on a couple other builds, so I have confidence. I’m writing this because of all the long delay/lead times I read about here. The day before yesterday, I changed my oil. I performed a detailed inspection of the fwf areas as I always do whenever I have my cowl off. In the process of doing that I think I “wiggled” the lead coming off my current sensor donut I have on my alternator B-lead a little too ‘robustly’. When I made a test flight yesterday I eventually noticed my current indication showing -103 amps. I’m sure it showed that from the very beginning, even before engine start, but I didn’t notice until airborne - my bad….. So after landing I investigated and found the lead coming off the small donut completely broken off. I don’t think this is something I can solder back together, so yesterday afternoon I ordered a new one from GRT. (I understand that having a current indication isn’t real important, but that’s what I have).

Well, this morning, Jon from GRT called me to say that they were ready to ship and just needed my CC info. That’s the way they do it. Then I got an email a few minutes later that showed shipping info that said I will get the new part between 9:30 and 12:30 tomorrow!! That is literally less than two days after I found the problem. I realize this is a small part - not like an engine or prop - but I have found the customer service from GRT (over the last 26 years) to be legendary.

I’ve been very very happy with customer service from GRT.

I installed a GRT HX EFIS in my old plane. I really like the way GRT has the ability to display CDI & Glide slope needles superimposed on the attitude indicator. It made following ILS & LPV approach guidance childsplay. That part of the GRT EFIS is far superior in my view to the top of the line Dynon I'm currently flying behind.

I too have received good service from GRT.
