Hello Fellow RV-8ers. I have been on the forum for several years now and enjoy reading and exploring the vast amount of information. I've owned 2 RV's, a -6 and now a -12, and I decided to get started building on a partially completed 8 kit that I just purchased. I've been reading the construction plans over the last few weeks and will be diving into the project this spring. I'm looking forward to connecting with many of you here on the RV-8 pages and just wanted to say hello.

Very cool - it's a fun project! There is a lot of excellent information here on the VAF. No matter the status of your build, or the vintage of your kit, you'll get lots of tips and experiences from other builders. There are some areas of the plans that have been greatly improved on later models, like the RV-7 and the RV-14. Even though it might sound strange, have a look there for hints - particularly FWF.

The folks here are great!! They put up with my crazy ideas like carbon fiber roll bars and such. Don't be afraid to ask silly questions!

I'll be at Osh on July 23-25 for the purpose of buying the remaining parts I need. I'm specifically looking for:
  • Prop
  • Exhaust
  • Starter
  • Baffle kit
  • Dynon Avionics
  • IFR GPS
I do have a few of the avionics items (Dynon a/p servos, Dynon ems module, Dynon ems sensors, Dynon intercom, a couple of harnesses)

I intend to visit the associated vendors for these items. Just wondering if anyone has some advice or input about good deals, discounts, etc.

Thanks for any help.

Jim
