Fuselage - Meet Wings!

So this happened today - the FIRST (but not last….) installation of the wings on the F1. We had a few neighbors stop in to help handle things, had a good safety briefing (“We don't want anyone getting pinched - call STOP if you see an issue!”), then stabbed both wings and installed a few drift pins to hold them in place. I now have a list titled “Things to do while wings are temporarily installed” that is twenty items long (for a start) and will certainly grow. I have another list already growing with “things to do once the wings come off again” - because they have to in order to do a few things like bottom skin nutplates.

Now I can see the answers to a few questions that I’ve had in the back of my mind (wing root ventilation, fuel lines, flap pushrod holes….) and a while lot of fun things to do!

That’s really exciting to see, Paul. One of these days I’d like to make a day trip out to visit your projects. I’m always looking for a destination and reason to fly my Rocket!

Should a one-hop for a Rocket - let me know when you’re coming! 😉

You made 'em wear green safety shirts?

Around here we just make 'em put down their beer so they can use two hands.
Hadley is still out riding mountain bikes in January and came in from a ride - think he just wanted to warm up…..😉
