I’m finally in the process of riveting the fuselage together after months of prep. When I riveted the forward auxiliary longeron, the one between the center section and the firewall, the skin deformed pretty considerably at the joggle. It didn’t look bad until I riveted it.
I put a ruler against the skin and there’s a depression on about the first 3 rivets starting at the joggle. I drilled out a few rivets so I can shim it. However, I’m thinking about just cutting the joggles off and making an overlapping tab out of .063 material. Does that sound reasonable? What did others do here?
