I'm looking to get back into an RV after selling my last one about 2 years ago. There is a local RV-6 available that looks promising. My question is, are steps on an RV-6 common, or are there going to be problems with ground and obstacle clearance issues? They look to have been added at some point, probably long after the initial build. My last RV was a -7, no steps and really not needed, but I will admit that the older I get every advantage to making it easier to get in and out of is welcome.
I will add that it looks like stock tires and tailwheel and the actual steps are about 10 inches off the groud sitting 3 pt. in the hangar. Guidance please.
