Australian ELT retailer?

Can anyone recommend an Australian retailer for an Artex 345 ELT?

Also, when having it programmed, what is required for Australian operations?

Not sure where you would find one locally, but it is not required in an Australian amateur built aircraft. Not saying it’s a bad idea to have one, but a personal type locator is fine here in oz. All you need to do is have it registered with an appropriate hex code and you’re good to go.

Building an RV-14 in Aus, they have the wiring harness. I am running the cables but will likely just use a hand held model, As Dave says, we don't require a fixed one.

If you do want the fixed one, depending on which state you're in, Dave Brown on here based in QLD, Horsham Aviation in Vic or contact the guys in serpentine WA. Probably others around but a good start for local people who should be able to help.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I'm not sure yet about installing a fixed ELT, just trying to see what's available and at what costs. Hazmat shipping costs from the usual overseas suppliers look prohibitive.

G'day Dan,

I use a PLB: GME MT610G. I keep it in my survival vest (OK - really a fishing vest from BCF !)

Check the usual stores: BCF, Anaconda, Whitworth etc. Mine cost about 400 from Anaconda at Rutherford which was the most convenient supplier for me.

Thanks Bob

I'll have a look at that. Sounds cheaper and easier than some of the other options I've seen.
