Just a reminder to give stuff a good yank - I mean on your aircraft, of course!
I was inspecting my brakes and had removed the wheel pants to clean everything and replace the protective plastic on the bottom of the pants as part of my "50 hour". Put everything back together, and when I yanked on the pants, I felt a very very slight movement that didn't seem quite right.
Yanked on the other wheel pant, and didn't have the same movement.
Hmmmm.
Pulled it all apart, and realized I forgot to fully tighten the AN-4 bolt that connects the outer part of the wheel pant to the wheel nut. Ouch, really glad I yanked on it!
BTW, I switched to using nord-lock washers on these bolts instead of safety wire, as suggested by some of the VAF gurus, and they do work great!
