WTB: SL30

My 18 year old SL30 gave up the ghost on the way back from Oshkosh and Garmin no longer services them as of Jan this year. Apparently the newer Garmin unit is not a drop in replacement requiring new tray, connectors, wiring etc (all of which of course is up behind the panel), anyone have a working SL30 laying around for a reasonable price?

This guy repaired my SL40 very reasonably. He was great to deal with. It might be worth giving him a call to see if he could repair your SL30.

I second the recommendation for Chris Short. Just last month, he repaired my SL40 for a fraction of what people are asking for their used one. There is a known issue with the power capacitors of the old Apollo / Garmin coms and nav/coms, and Chris claims his replacement parts are better than the ones from Garmin. If Chris can't fix it, you only pay a small evaluation fee.
