Wire Gauge for 2nd Comm Switch

Piper J3

Well Known Member
I want to install a second comm PTT switch. Does anybody know Tefzel wire gauge for this application?

Thanks in advance...

PTT current draw is practically "nil". Pretty much any size wire will work.
I personally won't use anything smaller than 20 ga. just because of workability.

As Mel said but personally I use 22 ga for all signal wires, 22 is the smallest gauge I use.

Does the second PTT switch wire in parallel with Pilot's PTT or does it go back to the comm radio as a separate input? I think I've seen it shown both ways. I think it would be easier / cleaner just to wire in parallel with the existing switch.
