Wingtip length issue

I am replacing a damaged left wingtip (non batwing) on a 7A and after lots of trial and trimming, I was able to fit the leading edge and all the way to the trailing edge but the problem I am facing is that my new tip is extending half inch and not exactly same as the aileron. The right tip is about quarter inch extended but hardly visible.

Not uncommon with the Horner tips. Cut the back of the tip horizontally along the seam and slightly up the side, cut to fit and glue epoxy back together. This also helps if the top and bottom do not conform to the skin.
Just make sure the fit is good on the leading edge.
