Wing Rib Part Number Query

On my plans for the wings on my RV-8A, I note for the rib part numbers the inner most non tank rib is labelled W-408-L-1. I do not have this rib, nor was it noted on my inventory list. I do however have an W-00708-L Splice Rib. I am presuming this is correct, but I wanted to check to be sure. Same issue for RHS of course.
Thanks

The 708 rib is a fully prepunched part that replaced the previous non prepunched RV-4 rib that was previously used for the 6, 7, and 8.
The newer rib is used with a newer splice plate that is also prepunched.

Thanks for the reply, appreciate it.
I do wonder why Vans don't update their drawings, it's not that big a task ...

Found your post because I was having this very issue..

No where could I find reference to the part number change for the pre punched kit... and even more frustrating I didn't have the pre-punched splice (W-00723-L-1)!

So I was just about to start manufacturing the splice out of the Trim Pack they provide, when I thought I would look up the part number of the splice (W-423) on Vans Store.. and found this nugget of information.

"AS3-032X1 1/2X36 1/2 trim pack

Used to make the W-324, W-423, W-623, W-919 TANK JOINT PLATE

Can also be used to manufacture replacement for W-00723-L-1 and W-00723-R-1. The pre-punched W-00723 is only available as part of the T-00701-L-1and T-00701-R-1 tank skins."

I go look at my fuel tank skin (T-00701-L-1) on the shelf and there they are in all their pre punched glory, attached to the side of the skins.. =)

How on earth was I meant to find out that is where they are? Hope this post helps someone out one day... Happy building
