I recently posted about doing a more than standard condition inspection as I'm at 5 years and 500 hours on an RV-14 that has done about 100 hours of aerobatics, (including competition for the past 3 years) - thread linked below fir your interest if you missed it.
I'm set up to do the inspection with a mechanic who is also a structures expert, so I think we're good there.
I was going to preemptively order a set of new isolators (and associated hardware) for the engine mount, but I didn't realize how expensive they are... LOL.
So, maybe that's an "on condition" decision that we assess early in the inspection and then make an order if needed?
Mine look good as far as I can tell, no cracks and the engine does not appear to sag, and there is no evidence of touching the cowl during G pulls.
Has anyone found they need to be replaced at a certain interval? Many of the serious aerobatic guys I have talked to do this annually, but I'm not THAT hardcore.
I couldn't find a match for the exact parts called out in the plans at the Van's store (or Aircraft Spruce)
So I might call Van's support to confirm.
See page 08 of 43_14.pdf (scree shot attached), and the links below to the parts at the Van's store that I found after some creative searching (part numbers don't match the plans though).
