Weekend airport work

Well, I’m sneaking up on the day I need to put tank bottom skins on. Putting sealant on the frame isn’t the challenge, it’s carefully applying a small amount of sealant to every rivet that will take time. And I don’t know about you guys but weekends at the airport are not good work days for focusing on tasks like this.

Maybe I will jump ahead and build four mixer boxes instead. I can also do main wing skin prep.

There’s nothing worse than having your hands full of fuel tank sealant parts laid out and someone coming in the hangar to have a conversation.
It’s a great way to put parts on in the wrong order and have the sealant start setting up on you…

If I stop by a hangar and see someone busy my first words are "Need a hand?" You never know when someone is trying to do a 2 person job by themselves but they can't let go of the adel clamp and screw and if they had just one more hand for 5 seconds they'd have been done 15 minutes ago.

Similarly, if I'm busy and someone stops by (especially a stranger) I've got a few stand-by lines to politely let them know I'm busy and can't be disturbed. Sometimes people leave, other times they ask if they can help and I make a new friend.
