The spousal unit is doing a thing for her yoga for cancer patients group (www.YogaBridge.org) this weekend at a local spot, and three of her lifelong friends drove/flew into town for it. I offered to go sleep out at the hangar so they could have the house, and do whatever it is women of this age do on a sleepover (I think they watched tennis and made fun of me). Was hoping to fly Friday at sunset, but didn’t get out in time. Saturday morning it was BR and OVC (storms overnight). Nearby DTO got 75mph winds, and lots of damage. Hope nobody got injured.

Hoping the WX is better where you are and you’re gearing up for an RV-filled weekend.

Setting up camp Friday, watching Old School on the iPad.

Up at midnight to service the lav system, so might as well go sit on the runway.

Next morning. Five miles up the road. Hate to see this.

Surveyed on foot a new landing zone by hot springs. In the middle of nowhere only 110 car miles east of my place. Challenging but doable uphill winding road with good visibility of the switchbacks. Recently graded. The springs structures are dilapidated but the water is nice.

IMG_4148.jpegTime for condition inspection of N761GS. Hard IFR on Saturday made the start an easy decision! There seems to be a fine line between "maintenance-inspection" and "upgrades" as the several of the "upgrades" could be moved to a Winter "todo" list in order to get the condition inspection done in a timely manner! Upgrading the oil return lines with new hose and spring clamps fell into the "maintenance" category. Engine ran, no leaks! Should be finished by the end of this week.

Winter "todo" list is growing with second/backup ADAHRS install, 7 star LED taxi/landing light install and "flipping" main gear tires… so far!

Return from PA to Virginia, caught what I think was a RORO/car carrier (I’m not very nautical) headed through the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal. The canal is an amazing feat of engineering considering it dates to 1829! Just amazing what they could accomplish back then with picks and shovels.
