My daughter is in the final week leading up to her CPL flight test and managed to lose the avgas fuel card for the Bolkow 209. While the card is now cancelled, sadly some clown used it three times on Friday. I was so disappointed to hear that somebody within the aviation community would do such a thing as its a fairly close-knit group in the deep south. So it was a rescue mission for me on Saturday afternoon - fly to 70 nm to Taiere and deliver her the fuel card for my RV-6 so she can finish off her training.

With the barometric pressure sitting at a high of 1040 Hpa (30.71" for some of you) there was not a breath of wind and not a cloud to be seen, except for some inversion fog over Alexandra. The flight over and back was the smoothest I think I've had for decades. A-MAZE-ING. Having a chance to tuck in close to my daughter as she escorted me out of the local training area was really cool too - she enjoys formation flying and I'm looking forward to being able to more of it once she returns to our part of the world. I finished off the flight over Cromwell with a few minutes of aerobatics before reluctantly putting XTC back in the hangar and driving home.

I think I might have a spare LED indicator...

Standard mission between W96 (Richmond VA USA) and KXLL (Allentown PA).

On the return trip today, got vectored around this guy. So cool.

Nothing more enjoyable than starting at First Flight then Roanoke Island, Billy Mitchel's Hatteras Island, Ocracoke Island, Carolina Beach and finish up at Southport NC. Flying back "over weight" but thoroughly satisfied from a GREAT SEAFOOD EXPERIENCE TRIP! Ed S

We started a coast-to-coast adventure this Sunday, May 17. Livermore, CA to Bar Harbor, Maine. First stop Sedona, AZ. The Sedona airport is on a long, thin tabletop mesa (creatively named Tabletop Mountain). A small crowd gathers nearly every night to watch the sunset from the airport overlook, where those skilled in the New Age Arts claim is a center of swirling Earth energy called a “vortex”. Whether it enhances our lifestyles or not, I’m sure a night in the vortex will enhance 749PK’s airspeed a couple of milliknots for sure. 😜IMG_0308.jpeg

DAR Visit. Now going through the G3X configurations. Calibrated my fuel tanks in both flight attitude and 3 pt taxi configuration. Won't flight plan this way, but discovered I can get in an extra gallon each side beyond Vans specs. Made a dipstick while I was at it. No RPM indication but I'm sure its a config thing.

More engine runs, slow taxi, verifying systems, and working on me the weak link before first flight.

Doug,
Flew with my wife from KEZF to KCRE (N. Myrtle Beach).
A 6 hr + car ride magically became 1:41 min flight.
Smooth as silk.
We went there to spread her Mom's cremains.
Short ride back the next day.
Tush push both ways.
Sublime
