Flew to Lake Canandaigua in the NY Finger Lakes region — a great GA destination in July. Then on to Niagara for some classic tourism to see the falls on the Canadian side.
Took advantage of the long weekend for a swing to the NE, seeing a part of the country I haven't been to since I was a teenager. The middle day was spent airport hopping, to check off several more "landed in" states -- completing my bingo board of all 49. A loop around Niagara Falls on the way back to the midwest, and home for dinner.
Then, updated the ol' resume for a first round of rejections applications, since my logbook will roll over 1500TT later this week.
Sand Lake. Popular ATV spot for camping. Zoom in and you can see the thousands of people camping in the sand.
Depot Bay
The smallest natural Harbour in the world. Do an internet search and watch the boats come in when it’s stormy. The channel is only 50’ wide and exposed to the open ocean.
Boats coming and going through the narrow channel. Popular whale watching spot. Saw a few but couldn’t get a good pic.
when you’re sorta-retired (or have failed retirement), the weekend is sort of a flexible concept….so this was a Monday trip down nd back from Western Nevada to Lemoore, CA. That’s Louise flying Mikey (the RV-6) in front of El Cap. Big Rocks, little airplanes!
