Took 748PK for a Bay Tour out of Livermore (KLVK)--first time for plane and pilot--on Friday, Jan 9. Weather clear and a million, winds light but a bit bumpy down low while northbound along the coastal bluffs from Half Moon Bay (KHAF) to the Golden Gate, where the KSFO Bravo shelf necks down to 1600 MSL. I was on flight following the whole way, but next time will ask for higher, through the Bravo on the Coastline VFR Transition, to avoid low-level turbulence, as well as marginal COM with ATC.
The cognoscenti will no doubt notice I got the hemispherical VFR altitude rules bass-akwards at several points along the route. Almost every flight I've ever made out of Livermore has been eastbound, returning westbound. Talk about expectation bias....

1530 CST Sunday:
On Saturday I did the 3-hour tour (three hour tour!) that insurance required with an instructor before I could solo the ELSA RV-12 I just bought. On Sunday I flew my doodlebug airplane from Calaveras County to its new home at Siskiyou County Airport.
