Yesterday I bled the 5606 out of my brake lines and replaced orings to viton. Bleeder valve issues necessitated an autozone trip. This am the job got finished up, took me a very long time. Doing the job I met a neighbor who used to be a tech counselor having built every model of vans. I have not flown since June, wx a bit off for me to fly today, will check the brakes out soon! This was the biggest job I’ve done yet, perhaps I might be able to maintain my own plane after all.

Flew to KDTN Saturday for an IFR check ride. Flew back to KTXK with my first filled IFR flight plan filed at 6,000’ just so I could touch a cloud! . 43 years later after earning ppl. So many Firsts in 761GS. Life is good !

Flew from 4TN3 to KLYH to KORF on Thursday to visit my kids. Flew to KILM on Friday to visit wife’s family. Back to 4TN3 today. Over 8 hours of flying with 3 instrument approaches.

Check out #1 CHT. Probably a bad probe or wiring. Going to switch probes and see if the lower CHT follows. Engine making great power.

I spent most of my time flying …not so much taking pictures. Three RV’s from Vernon to Qualicom, day 2 Tofino, Port Hardy, Courtney, Qualicom then back to Vernon today. So many neat places to see on Vancouver Island and the sea food is amazing!

Four planes went to West Yellowstone, KWYS, on Saturday after first going to Logan, KLGU, for the monthly breakfast and discounted fuel. The seasons are changing as the overnight temperatures at West were 31 degrees.
Saturday was an epic day. It was one of those rare days where the weather was more than perfect, and three of your friends had the entire day free. It was a flight of four. We left from the KBOS area at 6:30 am and covered 9 states, one island, 1100+ nautical miles, and 7.6 more clicks on the hobbs. Good friends, good weather and RVs. It doesn't get any better than that!
- First stop was the fabulous fly-in breakfast at Mifflin County, (KRVL). This happens on the second Saturday of each month. You serve yourself, with plenty of items to choose from. KRVL is a great airport nestled in valley between two ridges. Great folks serving great food to the community.
- Next stop was (KTGI) Tangier Island, a historic working man's island, that is slowly sinking into Chesapeake Bay. You can't go wrong with either a soft shell crab sandwich or crabcakes at Loraine's
- We left TGI and fueled up at Delaware Coastal (KGED). It was too nice of a day to head home so we flew direct to the most welcoming airport in New Hampshire, KAFN, a privately owned, second generation, family run airport, open to the public, run by the husband and wife team of Harvey and Lee Sawyer. One of the "must do" items once you land at AFN, is to follow the ice cream cones painted on the asphalt to Kimballs Farm. If you are an ice cream aficionado, you won't be disappointed. On a scale of 1-10, Kimballs Farm ice cream rates at least 11!
- After Kimballs it was a return to KPYM and a good night's sleep.
