What did you do with your RV this weekend? 0920 DFW time (storms in N.TX so no flying).
Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend.

Great turn out today for our amateur build fly in at CYVK. Although I didn’t fly as this is my home airport we had lots of fly ins and as always great conversation with fellow aviators! Had a great fly by of the snowflakes too.

Where?? Oh, Vernon, BC. I Googled it.

Would it really be so much trouble to put an actual location (city/state) in a post rather than just an unknown airport ID?

Spend time flying the Great Salt Lake testing my newly reconfigured Trio EZ-3 altitude-hold. Truly a delight to finally have a working system after fighting the earlier version for so long :)

A few of us from the neighborhood (CO12, Brighton, CO) flew to breakfast in Salida, CO (KANK). We had 3 Harmon Rocket II’s and one RV-6.

Adam has a souped up engine that is supposed to make 300+ hp. He’s also got the “faster” 2 blade Hartzell prop. My Rocket is a stock 260hp and I’ve got the “slower” MT 3-bladed prop. We did a little side-by-side all out race on the way home and were the same speed. Makes me want to trade out for the 2 blade and do a couple of other little things so that I can firmly claim neighborhood bragging rights. I guess I haven’t raced Rhino so he may be way faster. In any case, I think @HFS did such a great job of building a straight airframe along with the Dave Anders intake system that my plane is faster than it should be. I’m still feeling very fortunate to own it!

My bride and I took a flight into the Majestic Rocky Mountains today.
These photos are on the Alberta side and feature Abraham Lake.
We are fortunate to have such breathtaking views to enjoy. Vans Rv14A performance is outstanding. Enjoy your weekend.

Took off to practice some maneuvers and found myself here... 5 minutes down the coast from my home base of 56S (Seaside, OR Municipal). Sometimes I have to pinch myself, that I have this amazing machine and such a beautiful aerial backyard to play with it in.

Alvord Desert - Johnson Creek - Big Creek - Smileys - 45 Ranch - Fields Station

(5) days of back-country shenanigans began with meeting up with my Cessna 170B buddy in Alvord Desert for an overnight camp and morning soak in the hot springs. Then, it was off to Johnson Creek.

Big Creek for breakfast one day and a visit to another long-time flying pal at his house in Smiley Creek.

Always great to soak at Johnson Creek after those slow(er) flights in the 170B.

Fortunately, Steve Barnes showed up in his Rocket 6, which was a good break from the usual Bush-Bro pilots. Off we went, on our RV's to go check out (2) new areas: First was 45 Ranch, which involved a super fun drop in the canyon, followed by a (left) dog-leg turn. Shezam, there's the runway (too busy to take photos)! Second was visiting The Fields Station, in Oregon. "Exciting" landings and taxi to the store was rewarded by the best chocolate/marshmallow shake I've ever had.

I'd like to know more about "The Fields Station". You can taxi to the store?? A little googling and I came up empty handed. I'm assuming it's a private strip?
