Took a short XC with a couple of the teenage airport hooligans to 6K9. It’s a cool little strip on the Des Moines river, walking distance from the town of Keosauqua Iowa. Found another RV driver there, John, that’s part of the Full Throttle formation team.

I can finally post something now that I’m flying! I completed the light aft CG points from the EAA test cards today, 19 flights and 23 hr so far on the airframe. The plane flies great! Main things I need to work on are improved baffle sealing and get the A/C system charged (it’s starting to get hot here in TX).

Six of us flew to Langley BC for lunch at Adrian’s restaurant in the terminal building. I went IFR there thinking it would be easier than VFR in the busy Vancouver airspace. Lots of reroutes from the filed flight plan! It’s good practice though trying to stay ahead of the airplane and keep up to ATC.

Replaced flap tape on Friday, Formation lesson #2 on Saturday.

I used the Stainless tape, although I think my next step is to just remove everything and repaint the flaps. then use some felt on the underside of the wing skin. I'm going to be doing some other touch up projects anyway.

Empty weight 1074 after three times weighing after remembering to pull floor carpet under scales, shut slider canopy, add oil, and add everything I may have forgotten.

IO 360 L2A, fat starter, alternator, and battery, saber spacer w/sensi GA, full lemkie interior including front and baggage carpet, phat 380 tyres. Had to scarf in 2 in of fiberglass on the cowl and moved oil door to make it all work. Only thing I lack are wheel pants and fairings and paint. I could always drop 10 by excluding the side panels of the interior but I figure I’ll lose 10 off my fat butt first.

Was hoping to get it painted before inspection but that’s not going to happen. Next bleed brakes, hopps 9 on the injectors, fuel flow test and engine run. Inspection soon. Overall pretty happy with these numbers.
