Our group of mostly RV's (-6A, -8A,-4, -10A,-14A, C-182 and C-172) affectionately called the RAF for Rappahannock Area Flyers flew from the Fredericksburg, VA area to KAKQ, about 82 NM and enjoyed breakfast together.
There was good flying, good camaraderie, maintenance tips, and story telling.

Got the canopy glued last weekend and a new cowl showed up this week (thanks again Aiden Rich). So now I'm gearing up to start fiberglass.

flew to vegas nasty winds. won 400 lost 400 then won 65 bucks and went home! fighting a 40kt headwind on the way back

Did the running around to find a paint and panel shop that can fix bird strike damage from the Easter weekend. Minor cosmetic fix, they can fit me in this week, which is great.

(Night pattern work for currency, never saw a damn thing because it was dark, heard it and felt it through the controls. Either a small bird or a bat, minimal damage because it bulls-eyed a rib)

Dropped it off on Sunday. I should have it back later this week.

Returned the 4 to service after a winter grounding for a few maintenance jobs(prop overhaul, AV30 and new transponder install)….

Friday I took my middle daughter to Nashville


RTB from BNA at 11,000’


Monday I picked up the same daughter in Columbia, SC (she drove from BNA with friends) and flew her to KORF for medical school new student tour. Then back to VA Tech and Home for me.

What a great little plane!

Northern Rockies Ice Strip Fly in event, first time landing on an ice runway. The mountain view was gorgeous.

I was thinking that was the runway. Back 30+ years ago airport I am at the runway was not too much wider than that, or so it seemed when landing for the first couple of times.

Did a Sunday flight for brunch at KPXE (Perry-Houston County Airport). Nice airport, went to Perry downtown, back to the airport, fuel and back to Florida.
Was on instrument Flight Plan and ATC had me at 10k ft. Not everyday you do a long cross-country. Good experience overall.
