Hope you're having a nice weekend and I look forward to seeing what you're doing with your RV project or aircraft this weekend.

I cracked my rudder installing my first fiberglass tip. Turns out they shouldn't be tight. I've got a tiny little crack right at the trailing edge now. I must have missed that in the directions

Went for a short hop yesterday.
METAR was 5SM FU

With the raging mid-country fires, most of Canada was smoked-in, and I presume some States also...
5 miles visibility at ground level maybe, but at 1100' AGL it was more like 3 or 4...
See the attached photo.
I climbed at 3000' MSL, vis was at best 3, even less...
Went back to land.
Anyway, it was probably not the best idea to be outdoors, or in the sky for that matter, with all the fine particules floating around...
Not ideal for the engine breathing all that cr@p also ???

I flew to my EAA Chapter monthly breakfast. Been attending and cooking there for YEARs (driving car or motorcycle). First time the stars aligned to fly my own plane there. The weather was perfect, the crowd, as expected, was large. Always a good fundraiser for the chapter (when the weather cooperates).
