Morning everyone, and happy Saturday.

0900 DFW time there seems to be a lot of activity (below). Hope you're out RVating and enjoying the weekend. Am looking forward to seeing what RV stuff you did in this weekend's post. Builders especially!

91*F, 99.999% humidity and +TSRA in our forecast kept the RV in the hangar and me inside.

While we could, we went to Luby’s for LuAnn platters and cherry cobbler.

Possible short RV flight Sunday WX permitting.

Also, last week tried to push gear leg in. Needless to say, that didn't work. This week started "pulling" leg in. 3/16" to go.

I flew from Jacksonville FL to 52F in Dallas and back. The trip out on Thursday was real slow battling a 20-25kt headwind. I had to stay at 3500 and below because the winds were worse up higher. Pretty poor viz in the DFW area but ATC was very helpful clearing me into the Class B and routing on the north side of the airspace.

It was great seeing my brother and his wife and a few of my airport buddies at 52F. Walt did an IFR cert on my plane and convinced me that I needed to upgrade my old HID landing lights to AeroLed lights with Wig Wag. I never fly at night but the Wig Wags will be great to enhance daytime visibility.

I flew home yesterday and it was a much better trip overall. The fuel pump at 52F is out of service so I flew to Sherman (KSWI) for fuel. The ceiling and viz wasn’t bad when I departed 52F but it was just barely marginal VFR at Sherman. Departed Sherman after filling up and had to look for a hole to climb through. I knew it was mostly clear above 3000 because I could see the tops on my way into Sherman.

Climbed to 7500 where it was clear and cool with a 25 kt tailwind. I had to pick up a clearance to descend through the clouds to get to my fuel stop in Mississippi. Climbed back up to 7500 after the fuel stop and stayed there over an hour. I descended to 5500 to get below the large clouds that were building but still had a nice 25 kt tailwind. I was still dodging a flew clouds at 5500 but it cleared completely half way between Tallahassee and Lake City.

The return flight was about 4.5 flying time vs almost 6.5 hours on the trip west.

It was great being in Texas for a few days but I loved waking up to sunrise over the ocean this morning and being home with my wife.
