I always wanted to fly my RV-4 to work at Tinker AFB, but never got around to jumping through all those hoops for the landing rights. How difficult was that?Weather was beautiful on Friday so I decided to take the RV-8 to work. Sure beats the 4 hour drive from Omaha to Wichita.
Extremely easy to get a Civil Aircraft Landing Permit. Just fill out the DD Form 2400, 2401 & 2402 and send it into the E-mail address listed on the forms. Should only take a day or two.I always wanted to fly my RV-4 to work at Tinker AFB, but never got around to jumping through all those hoops for the landing rights. How difficult was that?

Well you HAVE to show us pictures of the 'old' DIY vs 'new' FlyLED lighting set-up!Wrapping up a long drawn out annual with a bunch of time items and updates, like having the AFP fuel injection overhauled and the cooler cleaned, replace the 2006 DIY LED landing lights with FlyLED units, and so on.
One update idea borrowed from Scott McDaniels was a new smooth bore oil cooler duct...a section of 600-6 tube, which happens to be 4" ID. Needed a new glass entry for alignment. Scott says his is holding up fine, and I'll report in due course.
