What did you do with your RV this weekend?

Saturday morning I went out and took the RV up for a spin, as it was the first weekend in eight weeks I didn't have an extra paper route. REALLY nice flying!!!

Wasn’t alone - lots of folks getting in some flying before the northern winds arrived mid day.

1041 CST Saturday

Gorgeous fall weather here in central Virginia on Saturday so I figured it was a great day to fly around in circles.

Or actually in a square! After running an airborne VOR check, just for grins, I ran an airspeed test using the NTPS spreadsheet. Unfortunately it was just a bit too bumpy and my standard deviation was 1.5, a figure which was (consulting statistical manual for precise adjective....) TERRIBLE. Oh well, just an excuse to try again later. 🤣

Kind of like skiing in Colorado on the weekends! Scary and crowded:oops:🤪........then there's I-70 trying to get home......:oops: Nope: no weekend skiing for me.........
Every time I drive between Texas and home in Wyoming, I remember asking a Cajun colleague for directions to somewhere. He thought for a moment and said "Ya can't get there from here." :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Happy with how my top cowl seals with my baffling. I'm sure I'll need to tweak it in a few spots. Now to RTV the obvious locations around the engine

Braved the nasty elements, including snow, this weekend to diagnose and fix an oil pressure problem on the 6A. Foolishly chose to do it on the ramp instead of moving to hanger. Almost got frostbite.

Washed off/out the desert dust from the new 8 project (Thing 2).
Made the final trim cut on the canopy for Thing 1 before the cold front hit. (messy job)
A while back I designed and printed some clip-on 1/8" gap spacers for the next step (SikaFlex) of Thing 1's canopy. Seem to be working well with some help from spring clamps.
