Vevor $99 Articulating Inspection Borescope

Yep... had one for almost a year now, and I can only recommend this borescope.
I used to be the head of maintenance for our association, and tried out many a borescope over the years. Started with the Vividia made famous by MB, quite a few others followed, but this Vevor really beats all the ones I tried up to now, best value for $.
The 6.4mm head works pretty good to inspect them stab hinges too ;)

Thank you for the PIREP's Dan and former neighbor Gary! The online video's of this unit looked very good. I am surprised this unit has had no previous discussions. I will get one ordered up to add to my tool collection.

The Vevor site shows these in stock again after being sold out for months. I have tried ordering from various other vendors who claim to have them and never ship.

I am glad I purchased mine when I did back in May. Seems to be a really nice unit with high quality picture, but I have not used it to peek inside a cylinder yet.

How stiff/soft is the viewing cable? I have a really nice borescope but the flexible cable is rather too flexible. If I hold it in a horizonal position with the cable extended, the cable will not hold its position and bend downward. I wish it was stiffer so you can point it to where you want and stays there.

I'm using one with two cameras on the head. One views sideways. Love it but no articulate feature
I have one similar. Two cameras. One on the head, one on the side. My recommendation is ... 180 degree Articulating head, dual cameras (front and side), and a short cable lenght not over three feet. The articulating head feature doesn't work well when trying to bend 180 degrees with multiple bends in the cable. The short cable is much easier to use on a cylinder head. I'm not using it to check the stoppage in my toilet drain.

Agree.. my cable is too long and I had no choice when I purchased it. However it does the job with good imagery

I bought the single camera one last fall - just finishing the conditional inspection using it. It is a game changer - so much better than fooling with the little bendable ones or the Vividia VA400 with its plunger steering.

Someone asked earlier about taking pictures - there is a button on the handle that makes it easy to do without moving one's hands.

I thought the flexible shaft would be a problem, but it turned out to not be. I was easily able to snake it aft from the aileron bell crank access to inspect for the aileron hinge crack area on the rear spar (not much of a factor on the 6's wing, but I still look).

Hat tip to MacCool here on VAF for showing me his - I was instantly sold.

I found the typical no-control Chinese borescopes to be hopelessly cumbersome to use. The ability to control the scope tip with this Vividia VA400 enhances the usefulness immensely, even though they're only controllable in one axis. Especially useful if you're using it to inspect things other than a simple cylinder bore.

Typo on which scope?

Plenty of other threads discussing the very scope YOU might have...
