My Throttle Quadrant is in the "standard" RV-8 location (see thumbnail below). It works though it's a little inconvenient with it being around the corner of the center section forward bulkhead.
One of the back burner projects I consider from time to time is moving the throttle quadrant inboard and up. I notice in the "Show Us your Panel" thread that laserman has altered it's position, and that got me to thinking about it again.
To move it inboard a couple inches, and up a few (2"-4") inches, the throttle, prop and mixture cables would have to be replaced with longer ones. Plus a couple gentle bends in two directions would have to be introduced.
Has anyone tried this? Has anyone run into difficulties doing something like this on an -8 which make it impractical?
Thanks
