RE Grommet for wheel valve

This is the grommet that I purchased for my Grove wheels, which was also a good fit.

RE Airmotive FI Idle Stop Screw
…RWoodard
I recently had a real DUH moment with my throttle cable/idle stop. Long story short is that when I reinstalled my engine and throttle cable, I incorrectly positioned the cable hold-down nuts that properly position the cable fore/aft. I started fooling with the idle stop screw thinking that it somehow rotated under the spring. Turns out nothing had changed with the idle stop screw. I had shifted the entire cable so I could no longer get full throw to get all the way to the idle set screw. An 1050rpm idle really does increase landing roll!
Just a different angle to consider…

Crow Comes Through (and keeps you from sliding through….)
Louise’s RV-6 (known as “Mikey”) got a Christmas present last December - new Crow five-point harnesses with rotary buckles to replace the old airline-style buckles and sunbleached nylon straps that had been there a long time. Unfortunately, being RV-6 kit #4, built and flying for over 35 years...

Grommet for wheel valve
Hi All, My wheels come without a grommet for the valve. I consulted with vans and they mentioned that I should use one, but they don't have a part number for it. Anyone could advice on the grommet part number for the wheels? Thanks, Manal

Check your tubes!
Hello. The rudder cables ride inside a piece of nylon tubing where they exit the fuselage near the tail of the RV-8. I'm sure it's similar in other models. The tubing is held in place with an adel clamp affixed to the the side skin on the inside. In any case, over 2000 hours and 18 years...

Airmotive FI Idle Stop Screw
Has anyone ever experienced the idle stop screw rotating to increase the minimum idle RPM during a flight? This is the screw with spring tension that sets the arm closed limit. During a landing it seemed like landing with a tail wind as I kind kept flying down the runway. When I braked and...

HS-905 trim cable holes
On page 8-7, it mentions cutting holes for the trim cables. It says to use the dimensions in the figure but I can’t see any dimensions listed. The holes in the figure look completely different than the ovals seen in those parts on later pages. How do you know what size and shape of holes to cut?

Get the cap all the cool kids are wearing! I don’t get a penny. It’s around $15. $5 more if you want your N-number on the back (I put 'STAFF' on the back of mine because it makes me laugh. Put STAFF on yours too if it makes you smile). And down the road $10 to the charity of your choice...
