SuperCubDriver: Another extended weekend trip Update
Got up at 5am this morning and walked to the airport. As said Monument Valley was the destination with landing and breakfast at Gouldings airport. During the night I got note that friends from Germany on a world trip in a Mooney are at Gouldings and thought what a coincidence. When I reported to land at 7am on the radio they were ready for departure so we didn´t actually meet. I delayed my landing and so we flew formation around the Mesas making some pics.

David Paule -3B Update
There’s been some slight progress. Right now 4 of the ten hoses are installed. 3 more have their changes figured out. The remains 3 will need full redesigns.
Here are some photos of hose C, which goes to the oil cooler. Here’s the engine end followed by the oil cooler end.

…when you’re sorta-retired (or have failed retirement), the weekend is sort of a flexible concept….so this was a Monday trip down nd back from Western Nevada to Lemoore, CA. That’s Louise flying Mikey (the RV-6) in front of El Cap. Big Rocks, little airplanes!

Another extended weekend trip
The school was on the way, not the slightest detour. A wildfire developed northwest of the school, large cloud, could smell it. The fog at LAX and Torrance disappeared so could fly as planned. Torrance temps at 23C, very nice after having 33C at Buchanan. Over LAX

RV-3B Dave's in Colorado
After removing the RH Pmag and changing some fittings, I managed to eliminate the interference and still have one of the hoses fit. It helped to have a strong shop light oriented carefully, as well as removing some of the LH Pmag’s leads. And I did buy a specialized wrench which proved...

Are these stock Van's seat cushions?
After 13 years we feel the dash is getting higher and higher...! I think it's time to redo the seat bottom cushions. Are these the stock Van's seat cushions? They look like it. With these, fore-aft is about 21" and side-to-side is about 16"

Min Distance below G5 for switches?
I am having a go at planning out my potential panel (mostly at this stage to make sure i can fit all the switches i need etc). I had planned for all my engine (SDS) switches on the left hand panel, below the G5 - but it is very tight! Any opinions or real world experience on the minimum...

Recommend NorCal person to lap valve
Wanted to see if anyone can recommend someone that can lap a valve and/or also ream? NorCal is the preferred area (plane is based at Gnoss, KDVO). ECI O-360 engine, 950 hours. Compression test in the low 50’s. Lee Ataka (Rio Vista) is too busy, unfortunately. Any recommendation would be great...

VAF Charity Cap: Help your charity and promote this site.
Get the cap all the cool kids are wearing! I don’t get a penny. It’s around $15. $5 more if you want your N-number on the back (I put 'STAFF' on the back of mine because it makes me laugh. Put STAFF on yours too if it makes you smile). And down the road $10 to the charity of your choice...
